Waves Maintenance Tips

STEP 1: PREP YOUR HAIR

First, wash your hair with a wave-promoting shampoo and conditioner.
Towel-dry your hair to remove excess water.
Apply a wave-enhancing product, such as a wave grease or lotion.

STEP 2: BRUSHING

Pick up a wave brush, which is designed specifically for creating waves in black men's hair.
Start brushing your hair, beginning at the crown of your head and working your way down to the nape of your neck.
Brush in a circular motion, keeping the pressure consistent, for a few minutes.
Once you've finished brushing, let your hair air-dry or blow-dry it on a low heat setting.

STEP 3: DURAG WEARING

Put on a durag, which helps to train your hair to lay down and form the wave pattern.
Tie the durag tightly, ensuring it covers all of your hair.
Wear the durag for a few hours, or overnight for best results.

STEP 4: MAINTAINING YOUR WAVES

To maintain your waves, brush them regularly, ideally twice a day.
Use a wave grease or lotion to keep your hair hydrated and maintain the wave pattern.
When washing your hair, use a wave-promoting shampoo and conditioner.
